An answer engine cannot cite a page its crawler was refused. PostCliq reads your robots.txt and reports, crawler by crawler, whether the search and retrieval bots from OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google and Microsoft are allowed. Google says no: a page that is indexed and eligible to show a snippet can appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode, and there is no separate optimisation. In practice that means the basics done well, clear pages that answer the question early, and no accidental blocks. Should I block AI crawlers? Blocking a training crawler such as GPTBot does not remove you from ChatGPT search, which uses a separate crawler. Blocking a search crawler such as OAI-SearchBot or Claude-SearchBot does remove you from that engine’s answers. PostCliq reports which is which so the choice is deliberate.
