# A clearer picture. One step at a time.

PostCliq is a free website audit that starts from nothing but your address. Enter it, watch the checks run, create a free account, and open a private report of what to fix first. This page explains each step and what happens behind it.

[Audit your website](https://postcliq.com/#try-postcliq)

## Three steps. One clear picture.

### Enter your website.

Type your address on the homepage. PostCliq reads your public pages the way a careful visitor would. No login, no plugin, no card.

### Get your private report.

Create a free account while the checks run. Your report shows what was found, the evidence for it and three quick wins to make first.

### Fix, then recheck.

Make the change, run the next weekly audit and see whether it held. Connect Analytics, Search Console or Clarity when you want traffic context.

## Step one: we read your public pages like a careful visitor.

PostCliq finds your public pages from your homepage, your sitemap and your internal links, then fetches up to fifty of them with a crawler that identifies itself as PostCliqBot. It respects robots.txt and slows down when your server asks it to. It never logs in, never submits a form, never adds to a cart and never changes anything. You get a first look at your homepage while the full run continues, and every wait shows a real stage.

- Up to fifty public pages, chosen for the enquiry journey first
- Identified crawler, robots.txt respected, no forms submitted
- Real progress stages, not a spinner

Checking key journeys

Got it. Checking your pages.

- 38 public pages found from the sitemap and links
- Checking the enquiry journey on 6 key pages
- Reviewing content and messaging
- Preparing three priorities

## Step two: checks in seven categories, scored only where they could run.

The pages are checked for the enquiry journey (forms, calls to action, contact paths), speed and page experience, content clarity, search visibility, accessibility, technical trust signals such as HTTPS and security headers, and AI readiness. Each category gets a score only when enough of its checks could run; otherwise it says not assessed. AI models help classify pages and explain problems in plain language; the arithmetic is ours.

- Seven categories, weighted towards the enquiry journey
- Coverage shown beside every score
- A check that could not run is never counted as a pass

[See what a report contains](https://postcliq.com/features)

Example data

**What was checked** 38 pages

- Speed and page experience **4 of 6**
- Path to an enquiry **5 of 9**
- Content and messaging **6 of 8**
- Search access **7 of 8**
- Visible security signals **3 of 4**

A check that could not run is reported as not assessed, never as a pass.

## Step three: a private report with three quick wins.

Create a free account while the checks run. Your report opens with a health score, an opportunity range where the inputs exist, and three quick wins. Open any finding for the evidence, the consequence, the action and how to verify it. Share the report with a colleague or a client by email; they sign in to see it.

- Three priorities at the top, everything else one click deeper
- Evidence and verification on every finding
- Shared by invitation, never by public link

## Deeper when you choose: connect what visitors did.

A public audit shows what is on the page. Connecting Google Analytics 4 or Search Console shows which pages attract visits but few enquiries and which search pages are slipping. Microsoft Clarity adds behaviour signals such as dead clicks and rage clicks. Connections are read-only, you pick the property, and you can disconnect at any time.

- Analytics and Search Console context
- Clarity behaviour signals alongside
- Read-only, property by property, revocable

Example data

**Connections** Read only

- **Google Analytics 4** Harbour Advisory · GA4 property Connected
- **Google Search Console** harbour-advisory.example · 16 months imported Connected
- **Microsoft Clarity** Behaviour signals · read only Not connected

You pick the property. We only read. Disconnect keeps your saved history unless you delete it.

## Useful now. Deeper when you choose.

### Useful from the start.

Public-page checks look at speed, forms, messaging and technical barriers. Coverage is visible. Missing data stays unknown.

### Deeper by choice.

Read-only Analytics and Search Console connections add traffic context. Your business inputs sharpen the opportunity scenario.

## Questions about the process.

How do you do a website audit?

Start with the pages that matter most to enquiries, then check each for speed, search access, a clear next step, trust and accessibility, and rank what you find by its effect on the business. PostCliq runs that sequence automatically on up to fifty public pages. Our CRO audit guide shows the same method by hand, if you would rather run it yourself first.

What do I need before I start?

Only your website address. No login, plugin, tracking code or card is needed for the public audit, and a free account is created while the checks run. If you want traffic context later, you will need access to your own Google Analytics, Search Console or Clarity project to connect it, read-only.

Which pages does PostCliq read?

Up to fifty public HTML pages, found from your homepage, your sitemap and your internal links. The homepage, enquiry and contact pages, service pages and proof pages are chosen first, then the rest by relevance. Login, cart, checkout and account pages are excluded, and the report lists every exclusion. Five representative pages are also rendered in a real mobile browser for speed, layout and accessibility checks.

What happens after the quick look?

You create a free account, with Google or an email code, and the quick look becomes your full report. An unclaimed quick look is deleted after twenty-four hours. Once a site has a report, the same site is not audited again for seven days; you see the existing report and the date the next audit is available.

How long does an audit take?

You see a first look at your homepage while the full audit runs, and you create your free account in the same wait. The full report depends on how many public pages your site has and how quickly it responds; the progress strip shows real stages, not an invented countdown.

Do I need to install anything or give you a login?

No. The audit reads only what a visitor can already see. It never asks for a password, never installs a plugin, never submits a form on your site and never changes anything. Connecting Analytics, Search Console or Clarity later is optional and read-only.

What if my website blocks crawlers?

PostCliqBot respects robots.txt, slows down when asked and stops after repeated refusals. It never tries to get around a block. The report shows what it could read, and any category with fewer than sixty per cent of its checks run says not assessed rather than guessing. If a firewall stops the quick look, the speed section falls back to Google’s public page-speed data, labelled by source. Allowing PostCliqBot gives you the full picture.

Does AI write the report?

AI models from OpenAI help classify pages and explain problems in plain language. Every score, rate and dollar figure is computed by our code from sourced inputs, and every finding must point at evidence you can inspect. AI output is assistance, not certification.
