Microsoft Clarity shows what visitors do.
PostCliq shows what to fix first.

Clarity records real sessions and draws heatmaps. PostCliq reads your public pages and ranks what stops visitors enquiring, with the evidence.

Audit your website

The short answer.

VERDICT

Different questions. Both free.

Clarity is free behaviour analytics: install its script and it records sessions, draws heatmaps and flags rage clicks and dead clicks, with no traffic limits. PostCliq is a free audit that reads up to 50 public pages without a script and ranks what stops visitors enquiring, with evidence and three fixes first. If you need to watch real visitors, Clarity is the better tool. If you already run it, connect it to PostCliq so its signals sit beside the findings.

At a glance.

Which should you choose?

Choose Microsoft Clarity if

  • You want to watch real sessions and see where people click and stop scrolling.
  • You need funnels on a live journey.
  • You want unlimited free behaviour data on a site you control.

Choose PostCliq if

  • You need a ranked list of what to fix, with evidence, not hours of recordings to review.
  • You want to check a site before installing anything, including a client’s public pages.
  • You need speed, accessibility, security, tracking and AI visibility checked beside the enquiry path.

Use them together.

Connect Clarity with a token

Pair your Clarity project with PostCliq using a project token. The connection is optional and read-only.

See the signals beside the findings

PostCliq reads dead clicks, rage clicks, quick backs, scroll depth and active time as aggregates, and joins them to the findings on the pages losing enquiries.

Watch the recordings that matter

Recordings stay in Clarity. Use PostCliq to decide which page to look at, then watch that page’s sessions in Clarity.

How the Clarity connection works

Clarity or Hotjar?

What PostCliq does not do.

Knowing the limits is part of choosing well.

Questions people ask.

Is Microsoft Clarity really free?

Yes. Microsoft states that Clarity is free forever, with no traffic limits, no sampling and unlimited projects. Data is kept for up to 30 days. You install a tracking script, and where consent rules apply you need visitor consent for its full features.

Does PostCliq replace Microsoft Clarity?

No. PostCliq does not record sessions or draw heatmaps. It audits your public pages and ranks what to fix. If you connect Clarity, PostCliq reads its behaviour signals as aggregates and shows them beside the findings for each page.

Clarity or Hotjar: which should I use?

Clarity if you want free recordings and heatmaps without traffic limits. Contentsquare, which now runs Hotjar, if you want surveys and feedback beside recordings. Both have free plans and both show behaviour. Neither audits your pages or tells you which fix to make first.

Does PostCliq need a tracking code?

No. The audit reads the pages any visitor can see, so there is nothing to install. Connecting Clarity, Google Analytics 4 or Search Console is optional and read-only, and adds measured context to the same report.

What does a rage click tell me?

That a visitor clicked repeatedly in one spot, often on something that looks clickable but is not, or responds slowly. It is a clue, not proof. Check the element and the page before you change anything.
