The enquiry form review kit
Find friction without losing the information sales needs.
What you’ll take away.
- List every required field.
- Write why sales needs each field before replying.
- Identify questions that could wait for a conversation.
How to use it
Work in order. Part one is about the questions you ask, and it is the part that needs somebody from sales in the room, or at least on the end of a message. Part two is the form itself, which is mechanical and which you can do alone. Part three is what happens after somebody presses the button, which is where the expensive failures live, because nobody sees them.
For anything that fails, write one line: what you saw, on which device. That line is the start of a brief. It is not a job for you personally.
One rule before you start. Do not submit a test enquiry through a live form on a client's site without telling them, and never submit one through somebody else's form to see what happens. Our own audits do not submit forms for exactly this reason.
