Questions people ask
Why does www versus non-www matter?
If both answer separately, search engines can treat them as two sites and split your rankings and links between them. One should redirect to the other.
301 or 302?
Use 301 (or 308) for permanent moves so rankings pass to the new address. 302 and 307 are for temporary moves.
How many redirects is too many?
One is normal. Each extra hop adds a round trip before the page starts loading.
